সেপ্টেম্বরেই উইন্ডোজ ৯!

প্রযুক্তিবিষয়ক সাইট ভার্জ-এর একটি প্রতিবেদনে বলা হয়েছে, এবারের হ্যালোইনের আগেই উইন্ডোজ এর নতুন সংস্করণ বাজারে আসতে পারে।
নির্দিষ্ট তারিখ ঠিক না হলেও  সেপ্টেম্বরের শেষ থেকে অক্টোবরের শুরু- এই সময়সীমার মধ্যে নতুন উইন্ডোজ সংস্করণ বের করা হবে। এটি ডেভেলপারদের জন্য প্রিভিউ ভার্সন হিসেবে আসবে বলে উল্লেখ করা হয়েছে কিন্তু একই সময়ে কথিত উইন্ডোজ ৯ এর পাবলিক বেটা ভার্সন বের হবে কি না তা নিয়ে এখনো কিছু বলা হয়নি বলে ভার্জ জানিয়েছে।
মাইক্রোসফট নতুন সংস্করণের নাম দিয়েছে ‘থ্রেশোল্ড’। উইন্ডোজ ৮ এবং ৮.১ ব্যবহারে পাওয়া কিছু সীমাবদ্ধতা দূর করে উন্নত করা হবে এই উইন্ডোজটি। উইন্ডোজ ৮ এর স্টার্ট স্ক্রিন এ স্টার্ট মেনু না থাকলেও এবার আবার তা নিয়ে আসা হয়েছে। সেই সঙ্গে ডেস্কটপের একটি উইন্ডোর মাধ্যমে উইন্ডোজ অ্যাপগুলো চালানোর সুবিধা থাকছে।
‘রিউমার্ড বাট আনকমফার্মড’ শিরোনামের একটি কলামে বলা হয়েছে, ব্যবহারকারী এবং ডেভেলাপারদের কাছে একেবারেই জনপ্রিয়তা না পাওয়া চার্মস মেনু সম্ভবত এবার দূর করা হচ্ছে।
উইন্ডোজ ফোনে থাকা মাইক্রোসফট ভয়েস অ্যাসিস্টেন্ট ‘করটানা’ও এবারের উইন্ডোজ ৯ এ থাকবে বলে আশা করা হচ্ছে যদিও তা ডেভালাপার প্রিভিউতে থাকছে না।
মাইক্রোসফট এ বিষয়ে কিছু বলতে অস্বীকৃতি জানিয়েছে।

রাউটিং: রাউটার একটি কম্পিউটার নেটওয়ার্কিং ডিভাইস, যা বিভিন্ন নেটওয়ার্কের মধ্য দিয়ে ডাটা তার গন্তব্যে কোন পথে যাবে, তা নির্ধারণ করে। এই প্রক্রিয়াকে রাউটিং বলে।

রাউটারঃ এক নেটওয়ার্ক কে অন্য নেটওয়ার্ক এর সাথে যুক্ত করা এবং ডাটা  নেটওয়ার্ক থেকে অন্য নেটওয়ার্ক এ রাউট করার কাজে ব্যবহৃত ডিভাইস কে বলা হয় রাউটার।

River up for grabbing?

The upazila nirbahi officer of Banaripara in Barisal has planted a signboard in the middle of the Sandhya river, claiming three acres of land.

Banaripara UNO Syeed AZ Morshed Ali did not try to hide what he was doing. He told The Daily Star, “I have erected an enclosure in the river of my own accord as a char is emerging there and land grabbers might take it.”
The UNO, responsible for protecting the rivers from being encroached upon, said he could have allocated “the land” to people but they would not have been able to use it properly.
“I have informed the DC [deputy commissioner] of the matter and talked to the local MP to build these structures, making a project and having it okayed by the government and the MP has agreed to it,” he claimed, adding that the municipality would be able to do the work quickly.
His sign reads: “Senior citizens' park, rest house, recreation centre, food court, and a mosque and a temple”
